Here's the exterior. Just by looking at this, you'd never guess the terror that lurks within...

Meet my remodeling staff!

Workhorse
Meet Justin - If you've ever laid as much carpet as he has, you'd be smiling too! This guy could make the hardest working migrant Mexican field worker look like a lazy ass! He actually stayed and worked with me for over 24 hours before the appraiser came to appraise the house! Justin, YOU ROCK!

Nanook of the North
Meet Steve - a.k.a the Sweedish Chef. It's always a good thing to have this kind of muscle around when working on a house. He's a little camera shy, though. Did you know that he once walked out of a restaurant with a full keg of beer under his shirt...

Woodworking Wizzard
Meet Ben - What can I say... the man knows how to build shit with wood. If it had to do with cutting, shaping, gluing or nailing wood, Ben probably did it.

Army Girl
Meet Paula - She did her share of washing, painting, and beer bottle hunting, but her best (and most important) work was my occasional back massage!

Deborah
Meet Deborah - Let this woman loose with a Wagner power roller, and watch some shit change colors! She's also a firm advocate of drinking and driving!

Motivational Juice
Meet Beer - Perhaps the most important helper of all! Had it not been for beer, I might have burned the house to the ground long ago!

Here are some before during and after shots of my never-ending remodeling project

Living Room

Notice the nasty ass texture on the celing and the technicolor nighmare in the before pictures. I think the previous occupants were smoking crack when they decorated!

Bathroom

Tearing up the bathroom
The first phase of the remodeling project (started long ago): I tore out the bathroom. It was a mess, and the guy that lived in the house before me had tried remodeling it. So not only did I have to deal with remodeling the bathroom, but I had to un-do all of his "rennovations"!

My custom tile shaping
Cutting the floor tile was no small task around the tub. It was curved, not straight, so I had to use a hand grinder (no, not a grinder designed to grind hands!) with a diamond wheel to hand fit the curves to the tub. I think it turned out rather nice!

Dego in the tub
Check out the tile job that we did surrounding the tub! (Dego not included)

Nearly Finished Bathroom
Here the bathroom is nearly finished. I have removed and destroyed the anthrax shower curtain since this picture was taken!

Foyer

It sounds like you have a really fancy house if you can say you have a foyer. It's really not a foyer... it's just a 15 square foot area in front of the door with flooring that matches my kitchen.

New hole in the wall
This section used to be a narrow doorway into the kitchen. Nick and I decided to make it a little bigger

New hole in the wall
I think I caught Justin a little off guard with this snapshot! Notice the half build half wall in front of Paula...

New hole in the wall
Now notice the lack of a half built half wall in front of Paula. We had to remove it when we noticed that Nick put it to close to the door. The drywall to cover it wouldn't have fit inbetween the frame and the trim for the door.
